It is my pleasure to welcome you at Kiriri Women’s University of Science and Technology where we nurture talents. In this regard, I would like to inform you that Kiriri Women’s University of Science and Technology is fully fledged chartered University committed to scholarly excellence. The University is ranked top in the country based on its competitive academic programmes. The University admits local and international students through a competitive admission criterion in various academic programmes offered by the University.
Our competitive academic programmes ranges from certificates, diplomas, degrees and masters (which are coming soon) programmes are informed by standardized curriculum which are approved by the Commission for University Education(CUE) and are geared towards equipping students with diverse knowledge and skills to fit in a globalized and industrialized economy. The University has continued to produce highly competent graduates in the job market as well as creating an enabling environment where students not only learn scientific knowledge but also moral values.
Our University has continued to remain the most favoured University by the potential employers. Graduates produced by our University are a constant assumption of competence among industry players. The new students enrolling in our University in every semester are effectively oriented to understand University processes and policies.
Enhancing student learning experience is the philosophy of our university. Students in our University are taught by highly qualified and experienced staff. Students are not only involved in the learning process but also given the opportunity for self-discovery of knowledge through intensive library research. Students of our University are subjected to comprehensive assessments tests as well as examinations at the end of every semester.
The university has a water tight student information management system. Student information ranging from admission records, class attendance records, continuous assessment test marks, examination marks and certificates are kept in the digital repository for reference when need arises. The office of the Registrar-Academic is dedicated in providing exceptional student services. Timely and reliable information is provided to student at any time as well as parents and guardians are regularly updated concerning performance of their students.
The Academic Registrar’s Office not only ensure safety of the students while at the University but also provides career guidance to students. The Office of the Registrar-Academic has continued to institutionalize student centric culture as well creating sustainable relationships with parents and guardians based on quality learning, teaching, research and innovation. Entry requirements for degree and diploma programmes
Basic Admission Criteria
The student’s secondary school record and national examination results will be the most important admission credentials required. A basic guideline on minimum entry requirements is summarised in the table.

Note
Students from countries which do not sit any of the above examinations and have completed secondary school will be required to sit a special qualifying examination. There are specific requirements for each of the programmes on offer.
Application Procedure
Application forms to the degree programme are available from the Admissions Office at a non-refundable fee of KES 1,000 for local applicants and US$ 55 for foreign applicants.
Completed application forms should be returned with the following attachments:
- Relevant result slip
- School leaving certificate
- 2 letters of reference one of which should be from the Headteacher/ Principal of the high school attended
- 3 recent passport sized photographs

Scholarships
Each semester, we award scholarships to our girls. These are based on financial need and on outstanding academic performance. Students who make it to the Deans List are automatically eligible for a scholarship.
