Our Services

Publishing is the coming together of the design and editorial processes. Our detail-orientated work process ensures that your publication is planned with intricate care so that it communicates concisely to the audience for which it is intended.

The Editorial Process

  • 1

    Substantive Editing

Substantive editing involves reviewing the content, organisation and presentation of the entire text from the title to the ending. We aim to ensure that the structure, content, language, style and presentation of the document is suitable for the audience for which it is intended.

  • 2

    Copy Editing

In copy editing, we aim to achieve accuracy, clarity and consistency in a document. It is the next step after substantive editing. This would typically involve checking if the writing is accurate, concise and clear. Copy editing also involves fact checking, for example of names, dates, past events and so on.

  • 3

    Proof Reading

Proof reading is the final step in the editing process. It is done before the written piece moves on for the design process. In proof reading, we ensure that the text or document is free of spelling, grammatical or punctuation errors.

  • 4

    Translation

Often, the crux of a message can get lost in translation across the language divide. We ensure that your original source text remains true to the essence of the message in the language of the final translation. We provide translation services for  UN recognised languages, in particular, English, French and Swahili.

Complementary Editorial Services

  • 1

    Content Creation

Content creation supports information that can be used across multiple channels, both for print and for online consumption. We will guide you every step of the way in ensuring that the content we create is congruent and succinct. We create published content for both printed and online consumption, such as reports, magazines, newsletters, documentaries, website content, blogs, and social media.

  • 2

    Copy Writing

Copywriting is an essential component of the content creation process. Without it, your content would be incomplete. We create pithy titles, text and editorial cartoons for smaller publications such as brochures, company profiles, magazines and newsletters. In this way, we work diligently in assisting you to connect fully with your target audience.

The Visual Elements

  • 1

    Photography

Today, more than ever before, we are using powerful imagery that supplements writing and evokes deeper engagement with text. We make use of carefully selected and curated photography  to enhance your various publications. Our team of professional photographers are dedicated to delivering the right images that perfectly compliment your publishing efforts.

  • 2

    Illustrations

Beyond precision photography, illustrations can drive a point home with powerful impact, and they are particularly useful for editorial purposes. Illustrations can also tell a story in the form of a more contemporary comic strip or illustrated book. Our collaborations with professional illustrators have allowed us to develop deliberate, meaningful illustrations for your publications. This empowers you to tell a story that leaves an unforgettable impression.

    Infographics and graphs

Infographics allow for a better understanding of difficult concepts as they are broken down and into a visual representation of easily digestible chunks. Further, they allow for mental breaks as readers plough through technical reports which can sometimes be tedious, and unfamiliar for those not conversant with the technical terms used. Our use of infographics within technical reports are customised, organically to the intended recipients, including policymakers and other stakeholders.
